Tuesday’s a Perfect Day to Visit CMNH’s River Otters

Tue 1/23 @ 10AM-5PM

What to do on Tuesday? We have a great idea! The Cleveland Museum of Natural History’s Perkins Wildlife Center is open for visitors Tuesday-Sunday 10am-5pm. Actually the museum’s Visitor Hall, with some of its beloved displays, is open as well. But we’d head straight for a pool where North American river otters Calvin, Atticus and Emmett are likely to be cavorting. “They have a thick, waterproof layer of skin under two layers of fur to help keep them warm in all seasons,” the museum says, so they won’t mind playing in the cold.

There are plenty of other critters to check out too: foxes, a porcupine, an albino groundhog, a bobcat, owls, a turkey vulture, even a bald eagle. Come meet the “animal ambassadors” and your Tuesday won’t be dull. The Perkins Wildlife Center is included with regular admission. Dress warm; it’s outdoors.
