Our area park districts don’t take the winter off — if you’re looking for something to do, they always have fun and educational programs going on, most of them family friendly.

This Sunday you can take the bored kids to Summit Metro Park’s Liberty Park Nature Center in Twinsburg for its Snow Much Fun (groan!) open house from noon-3pm. There’ll be activities outside — making s’mores over a fire, feeding chickadees and taking a short hike on one of its many trails. Inside you can enjoy the hot cocoa bar crafts activities. If there’s snow, snowshoes will be available to try out.

If you’re an animal lover, head over to the F.A. Seiberling Nature Realm visitors center where a naturalist will be hosting a program about foxes and how they hunt and hide starting at 2pm. Afterwards, the group will head outside for a short hike to look for the traces they leave behind.

Both programs are free; get more information at 330-865-8065 or summitmetroparks.org/ProgramsAndEvents.
