Standing Rock Cultural Arts Short Film Festival Returns to Kent

Sat 1/27 @ 7:30PM

The Standing Rock Cultural Arts International Shorts Film Festival and Competition is back for its 21st iteration, taking place at the Kent Stage. There film lovers will be able to see a diverse group of films, ranging in length from less than two minutes to nearly 15 minutes, made by filmmakers from as close as northeast Ohio and as far away as Korean, Iran and various European countries.

The films themselves are varied as usual — they include documentary films, music videos, and both realistic and fantasy narrative films., some serious and some light-hearted and comedic. But the best part this festival is that if something isn’t to your taste you don’t have to wait very long before something else comes on screen.

The year’s featured artist  is Iranian filmmaker Farnoosh Abedi, who won the People’s Choice Award last year for his film The Sprayer. He’s made short animated films, TV series, documentaries and an animated feature film.
