Photographer Sam Skelton Talks About His Underwater Images at Kaiser Gallery

Fri 1/12 @ 7PM

For the past month, Kaiser Gallery and Cocktail Lounge in Tremont has had an exhibit called Unsalted by local filmmaker/photographer Sam Skelton.

One of his main focuses is nature and the landscape — he’s an outdoors enthusiast who shoots wildlife and scenery and loves outdoor sports such as surfing, snowboarding and scuba diving. As an extension of that, he’s an advocate for the protection of the Great Lakes. His solo show, Unsalted, brings together those interests built around underwater photography of the Great Lakes and the Florida Aquifer. He’s even created the frames by hand from Lake Erie driftwood, fire-charred and treated with beeswax and orange oil.

The show will be on view through February 3. But this month at 7pm, during Walkabout Tremont, you can stop in to hear Skelton talk about his work. It’s free and open to the public.
