The Western Reserve Historical Society has scored a major coup: a touring poster exhibition from Washington D.C’s National Museum of African American History (part of the Smithsonian Institution) called “A Place for All People: Introducing the National Museum of African American History and Culture.”
The exhibit includes artifacts that shed light on African-American history and experience, items such as child-size slave shackles and the dress worn by Carlotta Walls her first day at Little Rock Central High School, as well as pop culture artifacts such as Chuck Berry’s guitar and track shoes worn by nine-time Olympic gold medalist in track & field Carl Lewis.
A Place for All People to the public on Wednesday January 24.
