Merwin’s Wharf Hosts Its Debut Frostbite BBQ

Sat 1/20-Sun 1/21 @ noon-8PM

All of a sudden this year, winter festivals have become a big thing. Oh, there’ve always been some. Brite Winter has been Cleveland’s flagship winter festival for a decade and a half. And park districts have held smallish, one-day winter events forever. But this year there’s a glut of first-time festivals.

First out of the box is Frostfest BBQ, a two-day debut event taking place at Cleveland Metroparks Merwin’s Wharf. It will feature the inevitable ice-carving demonstrations, a cookout with BBQ specials from the Cleveland Metroparks food truck, and live music by the Chardon Polka Band and the Old Skool Band. The restaurant will also be open with its full menu for you cold wussies who don’t want to spent any more time than necessary outside — until April. If you want to stand outside while you watch people make ice carvings, dress warm. It’s called “frostbite” for a reason!
