Mon 1/29-Sun 2/4
You might be having a hard time keeping up with all the restaurant weeks and specialized food weeks — hamburger, tacos, pizza etc. Clevelanders sure do love to eat though. And now comes the third annual Pierogi Week, celebrating an Eastern European specialty that many Clevelanders recall from their Slovenian or Ukrainian or Polish grandparents.
The little dumplings can be stuffed with anything, including vegetarian and sweet fillings, as well as traditional potato-based fillings. And over the seven days of Pierogi Week, you can stop at three dozen different restaurants, pizzerias, pubs and breweries — so many breweries! — and try a plate of three for $8. If you’re REALLY into this, try the Pierogi Palace in Willoughby while lists dozens of types including dessert pierogies. Really love pierogis? Visit five places during the week and get entered into a drawing for a $250 gift card — no, not $250 worth of pierogis, honestly1
