Film and Discussion Explore Dr. King’s 1965 Visit to Shaker Heights

The Shaker Arts Council is celebrating MLK Day eve will a special program. The centerpiece is the screening of a documentary film titled Conversations in Courage: The Visit. It depicts the 1965 visit to Shaker Heights by Dr. King, with interviews with some of the people who took part in it.

The screening will be followed by a discussion with local residents who recalled the events surrounding the visit, moderated by Donna Whyte, host of the “Witness to History” series of recorded interviews with Shaker residents.

The program takes place at the Stephanie Tubbs Jones Community Building on Lee Road in Shaker Heights. It’s free and open to all. For more information, go to shakerartscouncil.org.
