See that dreary wall above? It looks like every other drab office space you’ve ever seen, doesn’t it? And Team NEO, which works on fueling economic groups and job creation in 18 counties in Northeast Ohio, is well aware of that and not very excited about the look either. So they’re inviting artists to submit designs for a mural to be digitally printed and applied that wall to make it more appealing.
They’re asking that the work somehow incorporate what they call their “four core values”: commitment to excellence, valuing the individual, passion ate about Northeast Ohio, and “We are thought leaders.”
They say, “The mural can be inspired by regional history, landscape, architecture, abstract or realistic, emphasizing pattern and basic design elements. Content should be appropriate to a semi-public/office setting and Team NEO’s role and vision in Northeast Ohio.”
Want to give it a go? All submitting artist must be over 18 and living in NE Ohio. Submit a resume with your project history and qualifications, along with five images that showcase your work, to Rene Kizys at rkizys@teamneo.org. Deadline is February 18.
Is there anything in it for you, the artist? Yes. Three finalists will be asked to submit a mural design by April 1 and will receive $200 for their effort. The winner will be announced on April 15 and will get $1000, recognition on social media, and at our NEO Rising signature event in May 2024. Team NEO will pay to have the image printed so there’s no materials cost to the artist.
