CPT/Y-Haven Theater Production Tells Stories of People in Recovery

Thu 1/25-Fri 1/26 @ 7PM

Sat 1/27 @ 6:30PM

Sun 1/28 @ 3PM

The YMCA’s Y-Haven program works with people in recovery.  One of its projects is the Y-Haven Theatre Project, a 25-year partnership with Cleveland Public Theatre to create original productions fueled by the stories of its clients.

This weekend, for one weekend only, they’ll be staging their latest production. The synopsis says, “The residents of a cursed city in the middle of a drought find themselves engulfed in darkness even when the sun is shining. When rain begins to fall, it appears as though their prayers have been answered. However, as the waters continue to rise, they must search within to break the curse and build anew. The play is based on true stories of empowerment and survival co-written by members of this year’s Y-Haven Theatre Project.”

There’ll be four performances. Three are free. Saturday night’s show is a benefit to support Y-Haven; it includes a reception. Get more information here.
