Walkabout Tremont’s theme for the last two months of this monthly neighborhood event is “Light Up Your Holidays.” And in addition to being able to relax and enjoy food and drink specials from the neighborhood’s many bars and restaurants, you’ll be able to do some holiday shopping as well.
Start at the Tremont Holiday Market, hosted by 818 Studios. It features 14 area makers offering candles, skincare products, paintings and more — and there’ll be hot chocolate and Christmas treats. (It will also be open Friday December 15.)
Doubting Thomas Gallery will be opening the Peeps show, with art made from this most gross of Easter candies. There’ll be large and small pieces for sale and Floyd will be set up with his hand-painted pop-culture magnets.
On your way there, stop at Kaiser Gallery across the street from the Holiday Market and check out the opening of the new show, Unsalted, featuring the work of filmmaker/photographer Samuel Skelton. “Known for his innovative and unconventional approach to visual storytelling, Skelton specializes in capturing the mesmerizing realms of aerial and underwater imagery, pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in creative expression,” the gallery tells us
There are plenty of other places to shop in Tremont, believe it or not, including Loganberry Books and two of the coolest women’s clothing boutiques, Banyan Tree and Evie Lou. Plan to spend the whole evening and extend it by meeting friends for drinks later on.
