The Cleveland Orchestra Plays Live to Holiday Film “Elf”

Tue 12/19 & Wed 12/20 @ 7:30PM

The 2003 comedy film Elf starring Will Ferrell quickly joined the always-growing library of holiday classics. In it, Ferrell is the titular character named Buddy, a human who has been raised by elves at the North Pole since he was a baby. When he learns about his parentage, he travels to New York City to find his father; adventure and chaos ensue before the obligatory happy ending.

The score was written by John Debney, veteran composer for films, video games, TV and theme parks whose father was a producer at Disney, one of the many companies he has worked for.

The Cleveland Orchestra will perform the score live as the film screens at Severance Music Center for two evenings. The Orchestra’s former associate conductor Brett Mitchell will be leading the orchestra. Get tickets here.
