SPACES has been very active since 2019 (and throughout the pandemic!) in funneling grants to working artists in various disciplines through programs such as the Satellite Fund, the Urgent Art Fund and the Artists Forward Fund. It says it’s distributed almost $700,000 to 260 artist and artist groups.
To end the year, it’s hosting a party called “Lights! Camera! Artists!” to celebrate the work of these artists, with an open bar, pizza, charcuterie table and popcorn. And throughout the evening there’ll be performances by grantees including Theresa May, Meg Matko, Issa Vybe and S.Y.S./Sadhu Sounds. There’ll be welcoming remarks at 8:45pm.
And the entire event is free and open to the public.
