If you waited to do your Christmas shopping, the good news is the Lakewood’s Screw Factory aka the Lake Erie Building, always holds its open house/market late, the weekend before Christmas. This old industrial building is packed with artist studios and shops where you’ll find ceramics, jewelry, painting, glass arts, vintage items and more. Many also bring in outside artsts to share their space or this event.
It’s also got a couple of spacious event spaces — the Template Room and the Lake Erie Room —which it fills with guest artists and artisans for this event, expanding the range of offerings even more. You’ll find tons of fine art pieces such as paintings, prints, ceramics, photography, wood and glass work, sculpture and more. But you’ll also find items such as jewelry, purses, perfumes, T-shirts, coffees and teas, lamps, apparel and “stuffed hot cocoa bombs.” Shop away!
