Akron’s Missile Toe, who’ve dubbed themselves “The World’s Greatest Christmas Band,” only come around once a year, but in that time period you never know where the band might crop up to have some irreverent fun with beloved holiday tunes and traditions.
This year, they’re back at Jilly’s Music Room in Akron, where they’ll share the stage with a new quintet called the Crones, which debuted this summer, featuring a group of local women musicians over the age of 50 who still rock. They even include Tracey Thomas, who, as the singer for Akron’s Unit 5 in the 1980s was the princess of the area’s new wave scene.
The concert is free.
