The Cleveland Museum of Natural History’s Think & Drink with the Extinct series FINALLY returns, and it coincides with the Winter Solstice, which provides its theme. So among other things, you can learn the science behind the seasons.
You can also have a look at the museum’s recently opened new Visitor Hall, dance to music from the Burning River Entertainment Group, have encounters with live animals (will the museum’s otters be there?), and take in demos and talks from the museum’s staff scientists and educators. Some of the museum’s partners will be there too, offering more educational opportunities: the NASA Graphics and Visualization Lab, Cleveland Astronomical Society, and Geauga Park District Observatory Park. There’ll also be a special solstice programs at 7pm and 7:30pm in the Shafran Planetarium;
And Fat Head’s Brewery will have a limited supply of Dunkelweizen beer available for purchase, which it created to celebrate the museum’s iconic fossil of the Dunkleosteus,a giant armored fish that lived 349 million years ago. Get tickets here.
