In November, HEDGE gallery opened a show of new paintings by one of its represented artists, Cleveland Heights-based painter David King.
Show and Tell-Domestic Narratives started from a personal perspective but has evolved into more of a universal reflection on family, allowing interpretation of the stories of both friends and strangers in images created from a mixture of acrylic, oils, oil stick and chalk pastels.
“As a father and educator, ‘show and tell’ has always played an important role in my life,” says King. “It was my favorite activity in elementary school. I love sharing my stories and hearing everyone’s family folklore told through objects and experiences.”
On Thursday December 21, King will be in the gallery for an artist talk, giving people a chance to talk with him about his work. The show will be on view through December 29. It’s free and open to all.
