Talespinner Children’s Theatre Production Follows a Young Girl’s Hanukkah Journey

Sat 12/2-Sun 12/10

Talespinner Children’s Theatre has offices and classrooms at 78h Street Studios but currently it doesn’t have a dedicated performance space. So it’s been taking its shows on the road with its 2023-2024 “In My Neighborhood” season. Its next show A Light in the Night, will settle in or a two-weekend run at the Stonehill Auditorium at the Mandel JCC in Beachwood.

The world premiere script by Elana and Les Hunter depicts a young girl’s journey to save the ancient history of Hanukkah, directed by Margi Zitelli.

“It isn’t often, at this time of year, that families in the broader community have an opportunity to experience stories about the history, joy, and miracles surrounding Hanukkah,” says director Zitelli. “I’m delighted to be able to help bring to life Les and Elana’s original tale that combines the warmth of the holiday with humor and important lessons for kids about bravery and facing your fears.“

Performances take place Saturdays at 1 and 4pm and Sundays at 3pm. All performances are sensory-friendly/relaxed and other accommodations are made at specific performances. All tickets are “pay what you choose.”

Tickets are available at talespinnercle.org/tickets.
