Shakespeare Characters Collide with Hollywood in Next Ohio Shakespeare Festival Show

Thu 11/30-Sun 12/16

Shakespeare in Hollywood, the 2004 work by prolific popular playwright Ken Ludwig, imagines the fairies Oberon and Puck from Shakespeare’s comedy A Midsummer Night’s Dream showing up on the Hollywood set of Max Reinhardt’s 1935 film version of the play (an actual movie). The star-struck duo is then tapped to play themselves.

The play is the next offering from the Ohio Shakespeare Festival in its winter home at Greystone Hall, part of the list of the sort of lighthearted plays that generally make up the December theater schedule.

Shakespeare in Hollywood opens with a preview night on Thursday November 30 and runs through Saturday December 16. Sunday December 3 is pay what you will night and Thursday December is free student night, with student tickets in the gallery $5 at all show. Go here to get tickets.
