Sat 11/11 & Sun 11/12 @ 10AM-4PM
The Morgan Art of Papermaking Conservatory has embraced the idea of doing the entire process of papermaking in house — including growing the raw materials to make paper. And if you walk through the building and out back, you’ll come to the Sam Varaboolad Garden, said to be the largest kozo garden in the country. There it grows the mulberry-related plant whose bark is used in traditional Japanese papermaking.
You can learn all about and help out too, at the annual community kozo harvest, Saturday November 11 and Sunday November 12. You don’t need any experience or background knowledge; there will be people on hand to share theirs. Stop by any time and stay as long as you want. All ages are welcome too! There’ll be food and drink and a variety of things to do such as stripping the bark from the cut branches
