Local Musician Dreadlock Dave Throws Himself a Birthday Party at the Beachland

Fri 11/17 @ 8PM

There are few Cleveland musicians with a happier, sunnier aura than “Dreadlock Dave” McDougald who became known for leading the jam-style self-dubbed “folkadelicfunkpop” band Waterband from 2000-2013. After that, he instigated a project called Big Ship, which kept the upbeat jam-band vibe while cutting down on the actual jamming and featuring an evolving cast of friends, such as local reggae star Carlos Jones.

You can bask in his warmth at the Beachland Tavern when he celebrates Dreadlock Dave’s Birthday Bash with Dreadlock Dave & friends. Chagrin Falls’ Crooked Pecker Brewing will be doing a “tap takeover” with a special Dreadlock Dave Double IPA and more.

A little oddness will be injected into the evening with the opening act: Tightwand, a Ramones tribute. The event is dubbed the “I Can’t Drive 55 Tour,” but that’s like ambling along a country road and then suddenly flooring the accelerator.

Admission is a wallet-friendly $10.
