Are you familiar with Krampus? This Christmas folklore character is like Santa’s evil twin who accompanies Santa to care the children who’ve been naughty while Santa dropping off gifts for the well-behaved ones. In some parts of Europe, he appears on the evening of December 5, aka Krampusnaucht
In Cleveland, he’ll be making an appearance a few days earlier at the Cleveland Botanical Garden, wearing a mask, a furry coat and cowbells around his waist (wait — is this Kurentovanje???), searching for those naughty visitors. There’ll be cocktails at an outdoor bar, music by Erin Nicole and the Chill Factors, the chance to make your own mulling spices and vendor with Krampus souvenirs. But keep an eye out — Krampus could be lurking behind a bush!
This $5 event cover will partly benefit W.A.G.S. 4 Kids, which provides service dogs to kids in need of them.
