Jingle Your Bells at Tuba Christmas

Sun 11/26 @ 5:30PM

Don’t expect virtuoso musical talent from Tuba Christmas: the popular event, performed by volunteer musicians, is strictly for fun.

Now in its 50th year, Tuba Christmas was first performed at New York City’s Rockefeller Paza skating rink in 1974. Now it’s performed all over the world, and anyone who owns a tuba or euphonium (a tuba relative) and has some idea how to play it is welcome to sign up to be part of it. “Please dress in white shirt/blouse and black pants/shirt, a colorful tie or scarf. Don’t forget to decorate your instrument,” volunteers are advised, setting the event’s tone.

Audience members are encouraged to sing along with their favorite carols an popular holiday songs, and even bring bells to jingle during “Jingle Bells.”

The Cleveland concert takes place at First Baptist Church. It’s free.
