Happy Dog Forum Looks at the City Budget Process

Wed 12/6 @ 7:30PM

The much-talked-about “People’s Budget” issue in Cleveland was narrowly defeated at the polls in this past election, while impassioned advocacy and misleading opposition filled the air. But how much does the average person REALLY know abut the city of Cleveland budgeting process and how it allocates almost $2 million annually, despite the impact these allocations have on our neighborhoods?

This month’s edition of “Happy Dog Takes On…,” sponsored jointly by Gordon Square’s Happy Dog (where it takes place) and the City Club, is called “The budget is not boring, we swear.” There, people can hear from City of Cleveland CFO Ahmed Abonamah, Ward 17 Councilman Charles Slife and moderator William Tarter, Jr., a fellow at the Center for Community Solutions. And if all those figures make your head hurt, you can always get a beer.

It’s free; registration isn’t required but is preferred. The forum will also be livestreamed at 7:30pm. If you have questions, tweet @TheCityClub or text 330-541-5794.
