City of Cleveland & Bike Cleveland Share Plans for Superior Midway Project

Bike Cleveland’s main mission is to advocate for transportation infrastructure that’s safe and inviting for all, not just cars. One project they’ve been pushing for —with ten years(!) of  “advocating, planning, and public outreach” is the Superior Midway Network.

“Once fully complete, the Midway Network will be a transformative step forward for Cleveland residents and visitors alike to embrace active transportation within a safe and inviting riding environment,” they share. “This first corridor, from Public Square east to E55th Street represents the first step of this transformation. Construction is scheduled to begin in 2025.”

But this week, they’re inviting people to come down to the Red Space, 2400 Superior, for the city’s first open house to share preliminary information about the design. It includes a center median bike path separated from traffic; new pedestrian crossing islands; pavement repairs; new signs, signals and pavement markings; new curbs with ADA-compliant ramps; landscaping; and more.

All are welcome at this event. You can even ride your bike there!
