Abattoir Gallery Presents Its First Show in Auxiliary Space in Ohio City

Sat 11/11 @ 5-7PM

The work of painter Catherine Lentini is part of the Artists Archives of the Western Reserve’s current show, Tangents: Abstract & Geometric Art in Northeast Ohio. Her bio says her works “pulsate with energy and jewel-like colors, in shapes recalling the phone screens and monitors that are present in our daily lives.”

Those who  want to see more of her work are in luck: Abattoir Gallery, located in the Hildebrandt Provisions Building in the Clark-Fulton neighborhood, is presenting its first offsite show at Abattoir at The Quarter (2615 Detroit Road) in Ohio City.

It’s part of a new partnership between the gallery and the Quarter Apartments that seems inspired by the work artist/arts promoter Liz Maugans is doing at Worthington Yards and Tinnerman Lofts. The Quarter is offering a street-level gallery space for Abattoir to host four shows a year showcasing artists working in Cleveland’s near west idea (Lentini lives in Gordon Square), as well as introducing building residents to national-level work. (So if an artist is working on the EAST side of Cleveland, do they count as national”?) They’ll also be hosting public artist talks.

The opening reception on Saturday November 11 is free and open to all.
