WCSB Gathers Eight Diverse Acts for its Annual Halloween Show

Sat 10/28 @ 6:30PM

Cleveland State radio station WCSB 89.3FM’s annual Halloween Ball is a looooong tradtion, and this year, it’ll take over both rooms of the Beachland Ballroom and Tavern. And the station has rounded up a stellar array of musically diverse bands.

That starts with the hosts, the vaudeville team of Punch & Squeal, founders of the Cleveland Heights-based Wizbang Circus, who might plunk a little music of their own.

Then there’s the eight bands playing, including Cleveland’s veteran post-punk ensemble This Moment in Black History, edgy West Virginia pop/rock quartet Rozwell Kid, Brooklyn-based Goth-folk cabaret act Charming Disaster and Brooklyn, New York ska/reggae band Stop the Presses.

The bill also includes Cleveland indie rockers Whiffler, rockin’ Akron hip hop/funk ensemble Red Rose Panic, Cleveland shoegazer band Bleeder, and dreamy, desultory synth duo Telecult Powers.

And because ’tis the season, the evening includes a costume contest with cash prizes. You can afford to spend some money on that get-up because admission to this event is, believe it or not, free. It’s an all-ages show as well.
