The monthly Walk All Over Waterloo arts event in the Waterloo Arts District promises to be busy this month, with several openings and some great free music.
Framed Gallery opens a show of work by a Cleveland artist, David Buttram, a retired Cleveland schoolteacher and Vietnam veteran who has degrees from Cleveland Institute of Art and Kent State University. His paintings feature beautifully detailed scenes of everyday urban life that often suggest a Black Norman Rockwell,
Both the Praxis Fiber Workshop gallery and Deep Dive Art Projects will be showing work by northeast Ohio printmaker Claudio Orso. The show at Deep Dive, called Un Piede in Due Scarpe, features his woodblock prints, while the show at Praxis, titled La Carta Canta includes paper and print works installed throughout the gallery. The artist will also be there from 6-8pm, leading a free workshop to print show cards.
Waterloo Arts will be opening Photo Poets: Visions of Cleveland, a five-artist show curated by Aja Joy Grant, with artist talks at 7pm. The photos by Mansa L. Bey, Jasmine A. Golphin, Katie Hitchings, Arfil Pajarillaga and McKinley Wiley focus on street photography.
Over in the Cleveland Rocks Shop, singer/songwriter/guitarist Alexis Antes, Brazilian guitarist/composer/vocalist Luca Mundaca and jazz-influenced singer/keyboard player Anita Keys will perform a free show from 6-8pm.
