Like many things, the Wooltex Gallery in the Tower Press Building shut down during the pandemic, and the artists who have studios and homes in this work/live building abandoned their annual holiday shows and other exhibitions, although they did host their first open house since the pandemic this spring.
It’s been a long road back but people who’ve attended pre-pandemic shows will recognize a lot of the names when the gallery hosts its first show since 2019. They include John Davis, Mike Levy, Susan Allen, Robert Banks, Dan Morgan, William Martin Jean, Stephanie Fralick, Erica Miller, Michael Greenwald, Karolena Kuhn, Gar Bodnar, Charlie Malta, “Guice Mann,” Shaina Allenick, Sophie Shiloh, Damian Venditti, and Paul “Numbers” Etzler.
Photographer Morgan, who has been a driving force in organizing the artists, is presenting work featuring five of his former co-workers at Cleveland Museum of Art in “Appropriation: Life Imitating Art as CMA Guard.”
The opening night kickoff party features snacks, wine and the chance to meet the artists. It’s free to all and there’s free parking behind the building. The gallery will also be open Sunday afternoon September 24. The show’s closing reception is Saturday October 28.
