Things will be hopping at the normally pretty dignified Severance Music Center when it celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month this Friday.
That’s when it’ll be presenting a free concert with one of the area’s liveliest ensembles, Sammy DeLeon y su Orquesta. The Puerto Rican timbales player from Lorain leads ensembles of various sizes ranging from quartets to — I don’t know, 17? 18? musicians? I lost count! What they all have in common is their infectious, dance-inducing sound and the nimble fingers of keyboardist Jackie Warren.
WKYC’s Lydia Esparra hosts the free evening. Tickets are required. Call 216-231-1111 or 800-686-1141, or go to clevelandorchestra.com.
