Next Yards Project Exhibit Is Inspired by TV Show “Stranger Things”

Thu 10/19 @ 5:30PM

These days Halloween seems to consume everything in October; it’s the second biggest spending holiday after Christmas. And local presenters of arts events, festivals and various other activities follow suit, programming things with spooky themes.

So the Yards Project gallery at Worthington Yards in the Warehouse District is opening Stranger Things, an exhibit revolving around the popular sci-fi/mystery/horror TV series in which a small town is impacted by a parallel world. This show will be heavy on alternative and 3D media, including casted works, laboratory installations, lenticular photos and other art that incorporates special effects.

Artists include Jon Kvassay (work seen above), Christine Bonner, Laura D’Alessandro, Melissa English Campbell, Melissa Daubert, Chris Dean, Myron Gilbert, Connor Goodwin, Louise Bane Harris, Chester Hopkins-Bey,  Susie Underwood, Robin Van Lear, Jean Kondo Weigl, June Hund and Stephen Calhoun

It opens with a free public reception on Thursday October 19 @ 5:30-8pm. It will be on view through Saturday November 18.
