New Cleveland Print Room Show Reflects on Multiple Identities

Fri 10/6 @ 6:30-9PM

Wed 10/18 @ 6-7PM

The Cleveland Print Room has announced the opening  of a new show at its temporary space at CityGoods Hangar 2 in Hingetown: When You Visit Other Camps, a solo show by M. Carmen Lane. The artist conceived of the show during an Indigenous Artist Fellowship residency at Everglades National Park.

The show is composed of black-and-white images of thickets, vines, branches and waters in the Seminole and Miccosukee lands now known as the Everglades, as the artist presents us with the opportunity to reflect on “our multiple, and often simultaneous, identities as settlers, guests, relatives, and refugees in this community.”

Lane’s work, we’re told, “calls in members of the community to experience and reconcile with these concepts and realities during and beyond the duration of the exhibition.”

Join the artist at CityGoods Hangar 2 on Wednesday October 18 to learn more about her work. It’s free and open to all. The show will be on view through November 17.
