With Halloween season (season!) having become a time for adult revelries as well as trick-or-treating kids, a lot of worthy organizaions have honed in on the idea of hosting a colorful fun Halloween party for adults as a fundraiser.
And it certainly makes sense for a theater where people of all ages regularly wear costumes anyway. So Near West Theatre is inviting the 21-and-over to drop by their space in Gordon Square and party with them at Stage Fright
“We are going to put a spell on you as witches brew bubbling cauldrons of adult beverages and signature mocktails,” they warn. “Embrace your fears and dive into our adult tricks and treats lurking around every corner. Take a trip to visit Hansel & Gretel and steal a piece of their candy — if you dare.”
DJ C-Star will be playing that funky music for the dancers in the crowd, while tarot and palm readers will tell your fortune. And there’ll be horror scenes staged around the theater to provide photo ops for your Insta feed. Yes, there will be a costume contest. A savvy designer could practically make a living off of these!
Money raised will go to Near West Theatre’s arts programming for all ages.
