Five Artists Reflect on Their Surroundings in Different Mediums at Stocker Art Gallery Show

Work by Jill Milenski

Fri 10/6 @ 4:30-7:30PM

The Stocker Art Gallery at Lorain County Community College is opening a show in its gallery called Scenes and Scapes, featuring five diverse northeast Ohio artists working in different mediums.

The show include paintings by Timothy Callaghan, oil pastels by Jill Milenski, photography by Ron Jantz, mixed media work by Scott Pickering, and metal photo panels by Joan Pogalies. What links them is their consideration of “place”: “Where is this? Have I been here before? Would I like to visit this place?” It features city scene and landscape, man-made and natural environments, inviting viewers to reflect on the contrasts and similarities between such environments.

It opens with a free, public reception on Friday October 6 and will be on view  through Tuesday November 7.
