Sat 10/14 @12:30-3:30PM
It’s time once again — for the 16th year — for Lakewood’s Spooky Pooch Parade, a major vent on the calendar for dogs and their people.
Taking place at Madison Park in the city’s Birdtown neighborhood, it starts with a free festival at 12:30 with local businesses, dog-related vendors, entertainment, and pumpkin painting for kids. The parade steps off at 2pm and wends its way down Madison and adjoining streets. It’s followed by an awards presentation with prizes in categories such as Best Pooch & Child, Best Pooch & Adult, Best Pooch & Group, Spookiest Pooch and Best in Show.
So use your imagination to create costumes for you and your dog. The festival is free to attend but you have to register to participate in the parade. Advance registration is $10 per dog; day-of is $15. There’s a multiple-dog discount with pre-registration only.
