CMA’s Monthly MIX Party Celebrates Chinese Culture

Fri 11/3 @ 6PM

This month, the Cleveland Museum of Art’s monthly MIX party celebrates its current special exhibit China’s Southern Paradise: Treasures from the Lower Yangzi Delta. So guests will be able to partake of Chinese-themed dance art, music, food and drinks.

A centerpiece of the evening will be the 6:15 performance by Pittsburgh’s Steel Dragon Martial Arts lion dancers. DJ Atomix will spin a brief opening set from 6-6:15 and a longer set at 7:15 to fill the Ames Family Atrium with dancing to Chinese electro-club sounds.

Guests will also be able to tour the China’s Southern Paradise exhibition and see its close to 200 objects from the Jiangnan region of China, including jade, silk, prints, porcelain, lacquer and bamboo carvings, as well as the current Degas and the Laundress: Women, Work, and Impressionism show.
