Sun 10/15 @ 10AM
After months of a partial shutdown, with parts of its facility closed to the public (and reduced admission), and a total shutdown September 26-October 13 to prepare for its grand reopening, the Cleveland Museum of Natural History is ready to show off the newly redesigned and expanded Visitor Hall, bringing back re-conceptualized, reinstalled versions of beloved old exhibits and debuting new ones.
As the museum explains, “The project marks a rare opportunity for a natural history museum to reinvent its entire complex to tell a unified story of life and the forces that shape the universe. The use of the museum’s outstanding historical and living collections, the latest scientific research, and immersive technologies will enable visitors to see themselves as part of a continuum of life on Earth and part of the universe.”
Yes, there will still be dinosaurs!
To introduce all the changes and upgrades, as well as the new Visitor Hall that will serve as a gateway to the museum and act as a free community space, CMNH is inviting the public to visit the entire museum for free on Sunday October 15. Museum staff scientists will be there to provide information about what’s on display in the space.
Reserve free tickets here.
