St. Gregory Armenian Festival Features Food, Entertainment & Face Painting

Fri 9/15 @ 4-9PM

Sat 9/16 @ noon-9PM

The annual Cleveland Armenian Festival at St. Gregory of Narek Armenian Church is one of the many area ethnic church festivals that allow Clevelanders to sample diverse cultures — and food! — without leaving Ohio.

The two-day festival will offer plenty of food, of course, including shish kabob with rice pilaf, grilled chicken and lamb pita sandwiches, and Armenian pastry specialties — and yes, they’ll have vegetarian and vegan choices as well. And they’re promising a NEW menu item: Jingalov hats, a traditional herb-filled flatbread from the independent republic of Artsakh.

There’ll be traditional and modern music and dance performances all weekend including by the newly formed Cleveland Armenian dance group, along with church tours, cultural displays, a boutique featuring products made in Armenia and kids’ activities which on Saturday afternoon includes the ultimate kids’ favorite: face painting. Don’t be surprised if the kids kick up a fuss if you try to take them on Friday instead!

Dining and performances will be outside. It’s free and open to all.
