Playhouse Square Lights Up Its New Marquees with Special Event, Marquee Moments

Thu 9/28 @ 5:30PM

If you’ve been around Playhouse Square in the last few months, you probably noticed some changes in the landscape. Among the most dramatic is the spectacular new lighted marquees on all of its resident theaters.

It will be celebrating the lighting up of the area with a special event called Marquee Moments outdoors on Euclid Avenue. There’ll be a series of performances on two stages, the PNC stage on East 14th Street and the Second Stage in Euclid Avenue in front of the theaters.

The music starts with local rock band LoConti at 5:30, followed by students from the nationally acclaimed Baldwin Wallace University Music Theatre program; nine alumni from the Dazzle Awards for high school musical theater programs; Apostle Jones (of course; this year’s hottest local band!); national artist Andy Grammer, who has had several pop chart hits such as ‘Honey I’m Good”; and the 216Stix drummers. The light-up is at 9:15, followed by DJ Kyro keeping the music going on the second stage.

Admission is free and no ticket is required; just come on down! There’ll be food and refreshments available for purchase on the street and a full bar open on the plaa at the East 14th & Euclid intersection.
