Peninsula’s Music on the Porches Is a Day of Downhome Sounds

Sat 9/23 @ 1-7PM

If you find Cleveland’s Larchmere Porchfest and Akron’s Porch Rockr too overwhelming — dozens of bands at dozens of locations — you might find Peninsula’s Music on the Porches more to your liking.

The low-key family friendly event features music at a half dozen stages at businesses, including a couple of main stages, in tiny downtown Peninsula, so not a lot of scrambling to hear a musician you like.

And the schedule runs heavily to acoustic folk-type musicians such as singer/songwriters Brent Kirby and GS Harper, Ed and Laurie Caner from roots rock band Hey Mavis, country/jazz/pop singer Rachel Brown, old-time Appalachian/Celtic musicians Tina Bergmann and Bryan Thomas playing hammered dulcimer and bass, and traditional country ensemble Country Honk.

Three main stages are located at Mill Street Depot, Bronson Green and outside Boston Township Hall. G.A.R Hall will be hosting music workshops, bluegrass, and an old-time jam. Both G.A.R. Hall and Bronson Green will have full bars available.

It’s free and family-friendly. Go here for more information.
