You’ve probably heard a lot of handwringing about the disappearance of Monarch butterflies but in the last year or two, it seems like their essential host plant, milkweed, has been popping up everywhere, a key step in protecting these beautiful butterflies.

Learn more about Monarchs, their life cycles and their unique needs at Move with Monarchs at Geauga Park District’s Frohring Meadow on Sunday afternoon September 10. And Monarchs won’t be the only thing to look for and sweep up in nets which will be provided by the park or you can bring your own. Get an up-close look  at grasshoppers, katydids, beetles, praying mantids, a variety of butterflies, and other pollinators, and learn from a naturalist what their role is in the environment. The naturalist will also help you tag any Monrach you catch in case your Monarch is found later in Mexico.

It’s free and open to all ages. They recommend long pants, a hat and sunscreen. In case of rain, it will be canceled. Get more information here.
