Food Strong’s Cornucopia Benefit Supports Its Growing Healthy Food Access Programs

Wed 9/13 @ 6-9PM

The nonprofit organization Food Strong was founded in 2018 by South Euclid resident Sara Continenza with a food justice mission: to connect as many people as possible with access to healthy food.

Its programs have grown dramatically over the years to encompass a variety of programs that extend well beyond mere food distribution into a range of education and wellness initiatives, including opportunities to participate in learning to grow food, such as the Learning Garden at the Coit Road Farmers Market and a partnership with Studio West 117, fueled by Continenza’s background as a teacher and Peace Corps worker.

Its signature fundraising event is Cornucopia, now in its fifth year, hosted by Lago Custom Events in the Flats. The indoor/outdoor event, overlooking the Cuyahoga River and Lake Erie, offers appetizers and drinks, a full dinner, live music, and silent auctions and raffles. That’s from 6-9pm. There’s also a VIP Happy Hour from 4:30-6pm with live music by Wave Rowanne, and an afterparty at Sora from 9pm-2am so there are multiple levels to support Food Strong.
