The September artwalk in Akron’s Historic Arts District’s will be busier than usual. In addition to usual shows on view at Summit Artspace (along with open studios and pop-up art vendors), it will also mark the opening of the bustling the Rubber City Jazz and Blues Festival’s weekend.
There’ll be live music all over the district including Summit Artspace, the Akron Art Museum (which will be free for the evening) , Blu Jazz +, Jilly’s Music Room and the Akron Public Library. Nightlife Cinema will also be hosting a free outdoor screening of The Wiz in the Akron Art Museum’s Garden. Look for art exhibits at Akron Soul Train as well, and there’ll be hands-on art activities all around the district, with food trucks stationed all over the place. Go here for more information.
