Wed 8/30 @ 5-10PM
There’s only one more evening in the Nature Center at Shaker Lakes’ Summer Wednesdays. And the season finale is an outdoor family movie night from 8-10pm, where the film The Lorax will be screened in the Nature Center parking lot just as it’s starting to get dark (earlier an earlier —boo!) Bring y our chairs; there’ll be free popcorn, and other concessions will be available. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 kids under 12.
Come early and enjoy the center’s multiple trails and get some handmade Italian ice with fresh fruit from Little Italy’s Mount Granita from 5-10pm. There’s also a limited capacity special event kicking off the evening: an elderberry tahini hike and cooking demonstration with chef Doug Katz, Dana Harary and Nick Mikash from 5:30-7:30pm. Mikash, the center’s Nature Resources Manager, will take people on a short hike, which will be followed with the cooking demo and tasting hosted by Katz and Harary. Tickets are $25.
