Sammy DeLeon’s Latin Jazz Sextet Will Have People Dancing in the Cemetery

Sun 8/20 @ 4-6PM

Surprisingly, one of the most enjoyable of the many locations for outdoor summertime concerts in northeast Ohio is … a cemetery. But not just ANY cemetery: the historic Lake View Cemetery where everyone from a U.S. president to Michael Stanley is buried.

Scattered across the summer is a handful of Sundays when local bands will be playing music out in the fresh air. And this week that act is one of the most ebullient and joyful ensembles in town: timbales player Sammy DeLeon’s Latin Jazz Sextet. Their percussion-driven Puerto Rican-based music will have people dancing around the lawns. Or you can bring a blanket and some food and just lay around and let the music wash over you.

It’s free and open to all. Rain date is August 27.
