Mon 7/31
On Monday morning, Congresswoman Shontel Brown (Oh-11) and a group of local Black pastors and other activists gathered outside the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections to urge voting NO on Issue 1 which would strip citizens of their ability to hold politicians accountable. Led by veteran pastor C. Jay Matthews, they each spoke about the importance of maintaining majority rule in Ohio. In addition to the pastors, Susan Reis of the National Council of Jewish Women Ohio and Katie Paris of suburban women’s group Red Wine and Blue spoke on behalf of their constituencies.
Brown then went into the Board of Elections to cast her NO vote. You can watch video of the event here.
