Sun 8/20 @ 5-10PM
LoveMuffinPalooza is the annual fundraiser put on by local musician Adam Rich’s Love Muffin Records. It’s taken many shapes over the years, since he geld the first one in 2008, and this year, its 15th, it’ll be a one-night concert at the BOP STOP, featuring five musical acts.
The acts include folksinger/guitarist Mallory SanMarco; powerful blues and jazz-influenced singer/guitarist/harmonica player Cary Mathews who fronts Cary Mathews & the Dissidents; Spirit of 74, a project of veteran musician OZ Zeltner; Flowers Love Being Kurt; and Shaky Ground, a new/old reggae band whose membership are veterans of the local reggae scene going back to First Light, and later Outlaws I & I — they basically ARE Outlaws I & I with a single lineup change. A lot of classical rock bands could learn a lesson from that (The Guess Who and Foreigner, are you listening?)
John Latimer, who ran Cleveland’s Undercurrents Music Festival in the late 80s and 90s, which Rich cites as an inspiration for his own musical endeavors, will host the evening. Proceeds will again go to cancer support organization The Gathering Place.
