Local Music Veterans Bring New Band Shaky Ground to Reggae Sunday at the Music Box

Sun 8/27 @ 4-7PM

Shake Ground (pronounced Shaky Ground) is a new group in the local reggae scene, with only a season or two under their belts, only they aren’t really. They’re basically the long-running Outlaws I & I but without singer Butchie B. And before that, four of the five members were in the wildly popularly First Light in from the mid 80s to the mid 90s — keyboard player Eddie Mars, bass player Michael “Chopper” Wasson, guitarist Gino Long and drummer Rod Reisman.

Still they say that the band is “the latest incarnation of Butchie B’s musical vision,” retaining some of the material in their Outlaws I & I repertoire beloved by fans, describing themselves as “”groovemaster punk rasta hipsters from outer space.”

They’ll be this week’s musical makers at the Music Box Supper Club’s Reggae Sundays series, where the action overflows the supper club onto the riverside patio (weather permitting). Also on offer is a food and cocktail menu with a tropical twist.

Admission is free.
