Mon 8/21 @ 7-9PM

Cleveland Rocks: Past Present Future’s musician professional development workshop returns this month to address at topic that stymies many musicians: how to collect your mechanical Licensing Collective royalties. The nonprofit MLC as created by the U.S. Copyright Office to collect songwriting royalties for all musicians from digital streaming. If your music has been streamed online anywhere in the last two years, you may have royalties waiting for you.

Two experienced musicians, CRPPF’s David Kennedy and songwriter Tracy Marie, will tell you how they went about collecting their royalties. After the talk and a Q&A, the 2 x 4 songwriter showcase takes place with four songwriters performing: Cognito Jaff, Seth Kinfheart, Colleen Welsch and Chris Woten.

The event takes place at the Cleveland Rocks Shop (the former Music Saves) on Waterloo Road. It’s free but because the space is small, you can guarantee yourself a space by pre-registering.
