Enjoy Familiar Arias & Popular Tunes Outdoors at Opera in the Italian Garden with The Cleveland Ballet

Sun 9/3 @ 6PM

The thing about the popular annual Opera in the Italian Garden event held every year isn’t to hear cutting-edge opera performed by world-class performers (although many of the singers you hear are very fine indeed). It’s to treat the crowd at the free event to a program of popular arias and familiar Italian folk tunes (this year they’re promising some Broadway tunes as well) sung by a group of trained professional and semi-professional singers from the Cleveland Opera.

And as in recent years, they’ll be joined by the Cleveland Ballet, performing on a handful of special numbers.

It takes place in the upper Italian Garden off East Boulevard, around the fountain, where there’s plenty of lawn and other areas to set up your chair or blanket and enjoy a picnic (People like to bring special spreads of Italian cheeses and salamis and wines).  And Little Italy Wines will be there offering wine tastings. General admission is free. Reserved seating in front of the stage is $28.50.

Get tickets here, or just come with your basket and blanket.
